Die Verfasser sind Mitglieder und Freunde der German American Law Association, Capital Area Chapter, in Washington.

Die Berichte geben das Recht zur Zeit ihres Entwurfs wieder. Daher gilt, daß sie spätere Rechtsentwicklungen nicht widerspiegeln. Die Berichte sind ebenso wie Aufsätze in Fachzeitschriften zu verstehen, die den Stand zu einem gewissen Zeitpunkt einfrieren.

In addition to original material, this site serves as the repository of reports and comments distributed periodically through the GermanAmericanLaw listserver and the pre-Web gopher service for the German American Law Journal. Both services are now inoperative.

Contributors are members and friends of the Capital Area Chapter in Washington, DC of the German American Law Association.

These materials reflect the law at the time of their preparation. Hence, they do not address subsequent developments. The contributions should be understood like their paper-based counterparts which freeze a subject at a given point in time.

Generally, topics on German law appear in English while those on American law should be written in German.
